Views of the house and from the front porch

Here is home, Kelly Road with Ramey Ridge in the background. Also a picture of my washed out garden. Grow corn grow.

Tuesday 6/22/10 Alone again, time to turn to the Man Toys

Well, dropped Bryan A. off in Columbus this morning and now I find myself alone in the house, which strangely enough doesn't happen that often. Time to catch up on chores around here. First and foremost, the yard needs a serious mowing so I headed out to the boatyard and hopped on this old faithful beast. My kids don't know I have this yet, but Ryann is gonna be mowing on it before long. 1952 Ford 8N, 23 HP, and fully restored and operational. Its like driving around on a little piece of history. How many old man butts you think have sat on that baby? It's older than my dad, whew!

Final pics from Monday 6/21/10

Trusses finally up

Rained a little bit just enough to keep it cool, less than 85F. Got both sides trusses up and came down for some cheesy potatoes and Red Hot Smokies, the best hot dog in the world. Bryan is still here, he has to leave tomorrow, but I'm getting quite a bit of work out of him. Shingles should be on by tomorrow.....as long as the rain holds out.

More from Monday afternoon 6/21/10

EX-Navy work force

Saturday, Joe Reuss, Dan Towne, and Bryan Appleman were all in the woods with me putting up the ridge beam. As of now, Monday afernoon, it is about 82 F and the sweat still pours as Bryan and I continue to work on the trusses. All of us are ex-navy and most of us wear our old "poopy" suits (coveralls) to work in. Good group of guys and at least the stories are good.
